Description of the Role:


Our client is one of the best known worldwide brands within the consumer technology sector. The European HQ is based in Amsterdam, where all Pan-European marketing-related departments come together.
To support the European sales and marketing initiatives and strategic objectives,, the Marketing Systems team endeavour to provide an agile and commercially focussed infrastructure that facilitates multiple communication channels, underpins the company’s business model and adequately supports the local business units in each country to achieve sales targets.  The department is responsible for webmarketing, localization & production and direct marketing. All system-related issues, including client-database improvement and alignment with other countries and departments (sales, marketing communications etc.) form the core of your unit's business.. Reporting to the Vice-President Europe, you will manage a team of 7 Marketing Systems professionals.  Although your department deals strictly with Pan-European projects, you will find yourself the central point of contact in liaising and managing the relationship with the HQ in Asia.

Responsibilities:

Your main focus will be to:
    •    Build and manage a client focussed, high quality service delivery team atmosphere, where everyone knows what is expected and are ready to go that extra mile for the business;
    •    Build a strong relationship with the HQ in Asia;
    •    Build trust and credibility within the European HQ and with the local markets;

·       Develop the Marketing Systems strategy that is closely aligned with the business strategic objectives and the Marketing Communications strategy.

 

With a strong understanding of internet marketing, the client is specifically looking for people that have a proven track record in a related role in a branded company in the consumer goods industry. The successful candidate will have had solid European Headquarter experience and/or experience in the Asia Pacific region. Ideally, the person will have come from a vendor/service provider background, demonstrating a service provision oriented mind-set and the ability to manage various key stakeholders to ensure objectives are delivered and that the marketing systems are in place to ensure products go to market without delay.

  • Ability to manage conflicting strategic priorities and multiple opportunities to find the best way of creating long term business success
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills (fluency in English required), other languages desirable, ability to communicate with people at all levels, experienced and good presenter
